Stephen C. Hassenfelt
Chairman and CEO

Mr. Hassenfelt is the Chairman and CEO and has over 25 years of experience in the investment management business.  He was the Chairman and CEO of NCT Opportunities, Inc., a subsidiary of U.S. Trust Corporation specializing in hedge fund advisory services, and has been the portfolio manager of Granville Multi-Strategy Partners since its inception in 1995.  During his career, he has served in senior executive positions with N.C. Trust Company (which he co-founded in 1984) and its successor U.S. Trust Company of North Carolina as well as U.S. Trust Corporation.  From October 2000 to June 2003, Mr. Hassenfelt founded and managed the Excelsior Hedge Fund of Funds I, L.L.C., a registered investment company, for U.S. Trust.  Mr. Hassenfelt graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1972 with a B.S. in Business and from Wake Forest University Law School in 1976 with a J.D. (cum laude).  He is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Life Underwriter.


Sue W. Cole
Principal

Ms. Cole joined Granville Capital in 2006 as a Principal of the firm.  She has 37 years of experience in the financial services industry and is currently responsible for client service and development.  Prior to joining Granville Capital, Inc., Ms. Cole was the Regional CEO, Mid-Atlantic Region, of United States Trust Company, N.A., where she was responsible for the overall strategic direction, growth, and leadership of the five offices in North Carolina, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.  During her career, she has served in senior executive positions with N.C. Trust Company and its successor U.S. Trust Company of North Carolina as well as NCNB.  Ms. Cole attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she earned her B.S. in Business Administration in 1972 and her M.B.A. in Finance in 1977.




Bert Davis
Principal

Mr. Davis joined Granville Capital in 2008 as a Vice President of Investments and as a Manager Analyst and was named a Principal two years later.  Prior to joining Granville Capital, Mr. Davis was Vice President International for Shurtape Technologies, LLC.  He has traveled to 66 countries and has extensive experience in developing global industrial businesses through acquisitions, joint ventures and greenfield operations.  Mr. Davis earned his A.B. from Princeton University in 1988 and his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1993.  He obtained the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation in 2008.




R. Ruffin King
Principal

Mr. King joined Granville Capital in 2005 as a Principal of the firm specializing in hedge fund manager selection and monitoring.  He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Prior to joining Granville Capital, Mr. King was the Director of the Hedge Fund Program for the Virginia Retirement System.  From 1994 through 2001, he was a Senior Vice President with Evergreen Investment Management and its predecessor Mentor Investment Group.  Prior to that, he worked for Salomon Brothers in real estate finance in New York, London, and Tokyo.  He also worked for Citibank in its positioning and arbitrage department before joining Salomon.  Mr. King attended Princeton University, receiving an A.B. in history with honors in 1974.  He also attended both the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and School of Business, receiving J.D. and M.B.A. degrees in 1979.




Pearce A. Landry
Principal

Mr. Landry joined Granville Capital in 2004 as a Principal of the firm and specializes in private equity and mezzanine investments.  Prior to joining Granville Capital, Mr. Landry was a partner with Wachovia Capital Partners Private Investment Group where he worked from 1995 until 2003.  While at Wachovia Capital Partners, Mr. Landry served on the board of directors or as an advisor to selected portfolio companies.  Mr. Landry attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar and earned his B.S. in Biology in 1995.


Amelia S. Hopkins
Vice President of Investments

Ms. Hopkins joined Granville Capital in 2006 as a Vice President of Investments.  In this position, she works primarily with the risk management and manager monitoring processes for our hedge fund investments.  Prior to joining Granville Capital, Ms. Hopkins was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager with U.S. Trust Company (and predecessor N.C. Trust Company) where she worked for 12 years.  She also served as a Lecturer in Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 1991 to 1994 and as an executive assistant to the Chief Financial Officer at Oakwood Homes Corporation from 1986 to 1990.  Ms. Hopkins earned her B.A. in Political Science (cum laude) in 1979 and her M.A. in Economics in 1991 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1997 and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation in 2007.




Robert L. Bean
Vice President of Finance

Mr. Bean handles the financial operations of Granville Capital.  He also oversees the financial operations of the fund of funds products and the Family Office clients.  Prior to joining Granville Capital in October 2003, Mr. Bean was employed by AT&T Wireless Systems, Inc. from 1999 to 2003 and by Vanguard Cellular Systems, Inc. from 1986 to 1999.  Prior to this, he worked with KPMG Peat Marwick as a Senior Auditor.  Mr. Bean is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981 with a B.S. in Business Administration.


Terri B. Ross
Manager of Fund Operations

Ms. Ross focuses on Granville Capital's fund of funds operations.  Her responsibilities include fund administration, oversight of the subscription process, and coordinating communications with current and prospective investors.  Prior to joining Granville Capital, Ms. Ross served in a similar capacity with NCT Opportunities, Inc., and in various administrative positions with U.S. Trust Company of North Carolina and N.C. Trust Company from 1989 to 2003.


Melissa C. Cato
Operations Associate

Ms. Cato assists with Granville Capital’s fund operations.  She focuses on operational efforts related to hedge fund manager research and monitoring.  Prior to joining Granville Capital in March 2006, Ms. Cato was employed by S.C. Associates, Inc. and R.C. Associates, Inc. from 1998 to 2006 serving as the Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the President.  She earned her A.A.S. degree in Business Administration from Surry Community College in 1995.




Amy M. Humble
Client Relations Associate

Ms. Humble assists with Granville Capital's fund of funds operations.  In this capacity, she supports the operational efforts in both sales and marketing and client relations.  Prior to joining Granville Capital in September 2008, Ms. Humble was employed by Drexel Heritage Furniture from 2005 to 2008 serving as an Assistant to the Vice Presidents of Sales, Retail, and Retail Development.




Joyce K. Coble
Executive Associate

Ms. Coble is assistant to the Chairman and CEO.  In addition, she assists with office management, accounts payable, human resources, and hedge fund investor relations.  Ms. Coble was previously with NCT Opportunities, Inc., U.S. Trust Company of North Carolina, and N.C. Trust Company in various administrative positions from 1994 to 2003.  Prior to this, she worked in mortgage lending with Correspondence Mortgage, Inc. and First American Savings Bank.


Brenda W. Drummond
Executive Associate

Ms. Drummond provides assistance to our Family Office clients handling their personal administrative and financial matters.  In addition, she assists with office management.  Ms. Drummond was previously with Clark Consulting, Inc. and Long Miller & Associates from 1987 to 2003 serving in various administrative positions including Executive Assistant and Office Administrator.
